How Anonymity Works
"Anonymous" gets used loosely a lot of places. Here's exactly what it means on YouthVoice, step by step.
No account, ever
There's no sign-up, no login, no student ID field. You open the form and type. Nothing about your identity is required to submit.
Nothing links back to your device
We don't log IP addresses, device fingerprints, or browser cookies against submissions. Choosing 'Submit 100% Anonymously' means exactly that — no hidden identifier travels with the tip.
Students review it first
Every tip goes to elected Youth Board members before anyone else. Only tips the board chooses to escalate are ever seen by district Presidents — and even then, only the tip content, not any tracking data, because there isn't any.
Your tracking ID isn't a fingerprint
The code you get after submitting is randomly generated at the moment of submission. It can be used to look up that one tip's status — it can't be used to identify you or link back to any other activity.
The one exception: if you choose to include your name or email when submitting, that information is stored and visible to the Youth Board so they can follow up with you directly. That's always optional.
